The Lucia Blouse is a feminine, oversized blouse with dropped shoulders, knitted in stockinette stitch with the wrong side facing outwards. The body and sleeves are knitted from the wrong side, allowing you to knit comfortably in the round (knit stitches only).
Rikke Bangsgaard (Refined Knitwear) was inspired by two designs by Marianne Isager from the 1980s and 1990s: Blommetræer and Netværk.
Blommetræer is characterised by a square shape and a border that continues across the shoulders and neckline – a construction that captures the essence of the knitting style of that era and reminds Rikke Bangsgaard of the first jumper she knitted as a child. When she rediscovered Blommetræer, she knew that its shape and edges had to form the basis for her design.
For the yoke, she sought a delicate pattern that could be knitted back and forth – so it was natural to take inspiration from Netværk with its beautiful, airy slip stitch structure.
She chose Isager Silk Mohair, a yarn that features in many of her designs, combined with Spinni, which provides structure and stability. Together, they create a fabric that drapes beautifully around the body – perfect for a square construction like this.
Rikke Bangsgaard has a deep affection for this design. For her, it combines elements of Marianne's work with the feminine, light aesthetic that defines her universe. I hope this piece helps to show that knitting can just as easily produce dresses and delicate blouses. The Lucia Blouse is part of the Isager Archives 2 collection.

The blouse is designed with 15–30 cm of positive ease. The blouse should be slightly cropped. The sleeves are designed to be ¾ length. The garment is knitted from top to bottom, so that both the body and sleeve lengths can be easily adjusted to your liking.
The model in the photos has a bust measurement of approx. 84 cm and is wearing size XS with a width of approx. 31 cm. It is recommended to aim for more width in the smaller sizes and less width in the larger sizes.
