The BADGER SWEATER is a soft, warm jumper that is knitted from the top down. It starts with an Italian cast-on at the neck edge, followed by a twisted rib edge and a circular yoke worked in a charted stranded pattern. Short rows are then worked before the yoke is divided for body and sleeves, creating roominess and a good fit. As the stranded pattern is worked from the right side only, this design is suitable for knitters with little experience of stranded knitting. For a slightly less advanced project, replace the Italian cast-on with a regular long-tail cast-on. Just take care not to cast on too tightly. The Italian bind-off can also be replaced with a regular bind-off.

Each yarn pack contains the amount of yarn needed to complete the project in the selected size.

NOTE: You may want to increase the needle size by one size (+1 mm) when knitting a stranded pattern to get the same gauge as when working in stockinette stitch. Whether the stitch gauge changes when knitting with more than one colour varies from knitter to knitter. So remember that it is a good idea to knit a sample before you start the project.

Gauge:
16 sts x 26 rows in stockinette stitch on a 5 mm needle = 10 x 10 cm
16 sts x 19 rows in PATTERN on a 6 mm needle = 10 x 10 cm
