The cardigan is knit from the top down and back and forth on a circular needle. At the beginning only one number is given (for all sizes), but as the work grows, separate numbers are given for all sizes. The pattern gives directions for both a square neckline and a v-neck.

Gauge: approx. 13 sts x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in fisherman’s rib on needle size 6 mm. Approx. 15 sts x 22 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on needle size 6 mm.
Suggested needle size: Circular needle size 5 mm (60 cm or longer) for the neckband, and circular needle size 6 mm (60 cm or longer) for yoke, body, and sleeves. Double pointed needles (dpns) size 5 mm for the pocket edges and dpns size 6 mm for the pocket itself as well as the cuffs on the sleeves.
