Curly Cotton is a unique, exciting and incredibly lightweight bouclé yarn, made primarily from cotton and silk, and characterised by a beautiful, distinctive texture.

A special spinning process and the delicate balance of cotton, silk and a touch of extra-fine merino wool create a yarn that is soft, supple and skin-friendly – and is also wonderfully easy to knit with. The stitches glide gently over the needles, and the texture comes into its own effortlessly.

The yarn’s lightness makes it ideal for garments you’ll reach for time and time again – without them ever feeling heavy. Curly Cotton produces knits with a lovely drape that retain their shape whilst maintaining a loose and lively look. Lightness also means you only need a few balls for a project.

Curly Cotton can be worked with a variety of needle sizes, so you can tailor the final look entirely to your preferences. For a more textured, slightly Chanel-inspired jacket, use the 3.5 mm needle. For a more casual, loose-fitting jumper, try the 4.5 mm needle size.

The distinctive bouclé and tweed texture adds depth and makes the design interesting – even with simple cuts. It’s also a great yarn to combine with a companion thread such as silk-mohair, cashmere lace, or similar, if you’re looking for extra softness or a fuller fabric.
