John Arbon Textiles on Devionia: Devonia is one of our absolute favourite bases. It is very special to us as it is the first blend we have made using only local fibres from the West Country - something we are doing more and more now as we love it! For Devonia we have chosen a wonderful blend of Exmoor Blueface, Bluefaced Leicester and Lustre breeds. The Exmoor Blueface is our native sheep and brings its wonderful springy character, the Bluefaced Leicester gives the yarn its exceptionally soft handle and sheen, while the Lustre breeds (a combination of Wensleydale and Romney) bring their qualities of beautiful golden sheen and fine drape. Together they make a wonderfully drapey, lustrous blend with a hint of woolly bounce. There are 20 shades, and each consists of up to 5 pre-dyed fibre blends that create a rich mix of colours in the spun yarn.
